The Cades Cove Photos Collection, compiled by Arthur Randolph Shields, was privately published in 1988 under the title of Cades Coves Photos: a Pictorial Record of the Place and People. Shields gathered over 800 photographic prints during his research; about 90 of them are presented here. This collection documents people, places, and activities in Cades Cove, Tennessee: a beautiful, elliptical valley surrounded on all sides by the Great Smoky Mountains. These photographs span a period of history between the early 1900's to the mid-1950's. |
