For Adults and Teens
  • Sunday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 30, “Banned Books Week.”  Check out interactive displays throughout the library about attempts to ban books in the U.S. and around the world – and learn why it matters. Follow the library on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to catch our surprise “Read Out” readings to showcase some favorite banned books, ranging from Dr. Seuss to Harry Potter to To Kill a Mockingbird and more. 
For Children: Grades K-5
  • Sunday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 30, “Banned Books Week.”  Kids can go on a Book Challenge Trip around the world to learn about book banning in other countries, as well as in the U.S. Winners will get a sticker, a certificate and a chance at a prize drawing! As kids fill out their passports, they can check out interactive displays throughout the library about attempts to ban books – and why it matters. In addition, parents can follow the library on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to catch our surprise “Read Out” readings to showcase our favorite banned books, ranging from Dr. Seuss to Harry Potter to “To Kill a Mockingbird” and more. Get passports in the Children’s Library; displays are located throughout the library.
