Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Library Sponsored - Open to the Public

  • Tuesday, November 14,  6:30 p.m., “Civil Rights, Uncivil Times” Film and Discussion: “Mighty Times: The Children’s March.”  Watch a powerful short documentary film about the shocking and inspiring protests that shook Birmingham, Ala., in 1963, bringing teenagers and tweens into the streets to resist segregation. The film tells their unforgettable story in their own words. Be sure to stay for a vibrant discussion after the 40-minute film. This is the last of three film nights sponsored by Talking with Kids and Teens about Race, a community education initiative. The film and discussion take place in The Learning Lab (in the separate building adjoining the library parking lot).
