The children's room has been designed with the natural resources of
Blount County in mind.  Come explore the Catalog Trees, Sunshine Room, Reading Pond, and the Mountain Bookshelves, as well as the Secret Garden Amphitheatre.

Saturday, January 16,, 11:00 a.m., Dragon Story Hour

will be presented by library staff in the Children’s Reading Pond for pre-school and elementary aged children.  This program emphasizes stories and ideas from the “Picture America” display in the library gallery

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday January 29-31, All Day, National Puzzle Day

will be celebrated with a weekend of puzzle fun for the whole family

Foreign Language Story Hours:  Community volunteers have previously hosted foreign language story hours at our library.  We invite anyone interested in presenting this kind of service to contact the children's library at 273-1414. 

Elementary Age Activities:   

Tuesdays, 4:00 p.m., Serendipity Activities, Grades K-6, in Children’s Library. 

 Thursday, January 14th, 2-5 p.m., Serendipity Activities with Surplus Crafts, Grades K-6, in Children’s Library. 

 Sundays, Family Game Day.  Families with children of all ages can enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of board games, puzzles, hopscotch, toddler bowling, play huts, and more. 

Pre-School Story Hours & Crafts   

 Twilight Tales will resume in March.

§  Tuesday and Friday, 10:00 a.m.,  story hours for ages 3-5 include bubbles, stories, puppets, fun, and crafts.

§  Wednesday, 10:00 & 10:30 a.m., Tadpole Tales story hours for ages two and under include stories, songs & movement, rhyme time, puppets, crafts, and coloring.
