Adult Fiction
Adult fiction books number about 20,000 and feature several popular genres like mysteries and romances.  Each title is shelved alphabetically by the author's last name.

Adult Nonfiction
Nonfiction books number about 40,000 and are shelved by the Dewey Decimal Classification System.

Children's Library
The Children's Library contains about 25,000 books divided into "J" (for 3rd grade and above) and "Easy" (for second grade and below).  It also contains a complete non-fiction section designed for children.  The books are arranged on the shelves in the same manner as those in the adult collection and can be located using the same online catalog.

Young Adult Section
The Young Adult Section is located just in front of the large windows which face Cusick Street.  To find its location, go past the circulation desk, turn right down the main aisle, and go all the way to the end.  These shelves in the center aisle house YA fiction, audio books, and magazines.  A bulletin board with notes of interest to young adults, and comfortable seating has been added, in addition to several study areas.  Reference librarians are close by to provide needed help.

Genealogy and Local History
This 800+ volume collection contains books on genealogy and local history, to be used within the Library.  Microfilm of local newspapers, court records and census schedules are available for photocopying.  Records on CD-ROM from the Latter Day Saints are also available for use.

Reference
Materials in this area cover a wide range of subjects and include such items as dictionaries, atlases, encyclopedias, periodical and bibliographical indexes.  These materials must be used in the Library.  A number of online databases are available as well.  Assistance from the reference staff is readily available.

Periodicals and Newspapers
The Library subscribes to over 200 periodicals and keeps back files for about three years; back issues are available for the public to check-out.  Microfiche for back issues of certain magazines are available and can be obtained at the reference desk, as well as printouts of full-text articles available through the Tennessee Electronic Library.

Non Print Materials
The Library has nearly 10,000 videos and 7,500 books on tape, and a new selection of about 300 DVDs.  These very popular materials are located in the AV room near the check-out desks and are organized using the same system as is used for books.  Information about these titles can be found using the online catalog (graphic link).
