APRIL 2008 PROGRAMS AT BLOUNT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY
MARYVILLE, TN (March 25, 2008) Heralding the arrival of spring, Grace Notes Flute Choir will perform a concert during the month of April, and teens will have the opportunity to explore their inner Goth by creating a “gock” (Goth sock) for Gock Week during National Library Week (April 13-19).
If you’ve never considered the question of “Who will make your medical decisions?” should a health crisis occur, you’re invited to a program on advance directives by Michelle Evans of the Blount Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Program. Then, in honor of Earth Day—but on Saturday, April 19--the children’s library will host “Children’s Earth Day and Ecology Program.”
Once again, Blount County community members have a wonderful opportunity to peruse and purchase selections from the 40,000 used books for sale during the fundraiser by the Friends of the Library during the three days of April 17-19.
Then, next month, on May 12, author, Jack B. Carman, will show slides and talk about the beautiful photographs in his book, Wildflowers of Tennessee, which is carried at Visitors’ Centers in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park
As usual, there’s something for everyone at the library. We hope to see you there!
